    1. Study the current Lead Business Analyst in your firm or the business analyst that is most respected and learn what differentiates him or her from the rest of you.

Sometimes what differentiates the current Lead or Most Business Analyst is not going to be their business analysis skills but their depth of insight into the business operations at your place of employment.

What you then need to do is to close the gap between your business analysis domain knowledge or your knowledge of how your business really works and what you know about that, right now.

    2. The next thing you need to do is to start helping your fellow business analysts succeed at their tasks.

For you to succeed at this, you must be very good at what do in terms of your business analysis skills and your domain knowledge

Now, what you need to do is to establish your position as a leader amongst your fellow business analysts by stepping out to help them with their tasks and by volunteering for tasks that everyone else says they are too busy to do.
